Stanley "Tookie" Williams

Stanley Tookie Williams III (December 29, 1953 – December 13, 2005) was the founder of the Crips, a notorious American street gang which had its roots in South Central Los Angeles in 1971. In 1979 he was convicted of four murders committed in the course of robberies, and he remained in prison for the rest of his life. Later on in his life, he became an author of several books including anti-gang and violence literature and children's books. In December 2005, he was executed.
